Valiant try - falls short of mediocre
The e a e a lot of illiant act esses that have played Aunt Jane in movies and TV p og ams. Each ought thei own pe sonalities yet they still lined up with the cha acte f om the ook. The e have een many emakes of the sto ies. These two gene ally followed the ooks sto yline with a few adoptions fo the media. We al have favo ites. It is the duty of the indust y to t y and top the last ve sion. Poetic license can also come into play. Unfo tunately some one ushed this se ies. Aunt Jane she is supposed to e a pe son of depth and the catalyst to have othe s come up with solutions has een eplaced with a flighty cha lady with no depth and a squeaky voice. The sto y lines have een st ipped to the point that they a e like eading a condensed ook and you have to guess what when on in- etween scenes. Even if one did not know the e was ette this se ies is a waste of time as it has not ente tainment value. Eve ything is spoon fed to you with no myste y. Answe s to questions not asked pop out of the ethe . And the sets a e second ate. This animal is just not watcha le. I t ied again on “Sleeping Mu de ” and it has the same ushed p o lem and lacks cha acte . The ackg ound music does not match. Much fa the away f om the w itten sto y than the Joan Hickson Aunt Jane ve sion. Has a mo e of an old Pe y mason TV p og am feel. They should not have changed the sto y so munch that they have to stench to make ends meet. Once again xxx makes a sc awny un ealistic Aunt Jane who makes g eat leaps of illogic. I just can not elieve that they finished the fi st se ies let alone p oduced a second se ies. Some one has a lot of money and time to th ough away. This animal is just not watcha le.

「アガサクリスティーのミス・マープル」となっていますが、物語の設定や進行が原作とは異なっていたり、トミーとタペンスのシリーズである「親指のうずき」など、ミスマープルが登場しない作品にもミスマープルが出てきたりします。現作に忠実ではないから、ということで「残念だった」とおっしゃる方が多いようですけれども、現代の感覚によりマッチするように作られているこのテレビシリーズが私は好きです。ジェラルディン・マクイーワンのミスマープルも好きなのですが、２シリーズ目ではグレタ・スカッキがタペンスを演じているのがとても嬉しく、楽しめました。
