非暴力と真実の探求が彼の人生の大きなテーマ 時には失敗を犯しながらも、目標に向かって歩んでいく生き方に感銘を受けます。 表現がわかりにくい部分があるのと、５００ページを超える長さが読み終えるのに若干の障害ではありましたが、何とか読み終えました。 偉大な人間の内面をかいま見て、自らの人生を豊かにする事が出来る、、、筈。
Everyone should read this book
In his own wo ds, Gandhi takes us th ough some of the expe iences in his life, with each chapte fo ming at least one impo tant lea ning lesson to him. All expe iences, whethe good o ad, had a positive lea ning lesson on him and cont i uted to his goal of seeking the t uth. p One of his main eliefs was using non-violence as a means of p otesting against acts of opp ession and using inte national law to seek justice. This meant he neve aised his fists o lowe ed himself to a a ism howeve much he was p ovoked, violated o attacked. In fact this seems to e the opposite attitude demonst ated y all te o ists and most count ies (West, Middle East and East) whe e the elief is that violence and wa wo ks. As Gandhi says "an eye fo an eye makes the whole wo ld lind". p As we have now ente ed the thi d of the wo ld wa s, whe e the weapons a e ho ific and the consequences unimagina le, Gandhi's wo ds have neve een mo e impo tant. All politicians and wo ld leade s should ead this ook. In fact eve yone should ead this ook.

I found his auto iog aphy (called The Sto y of My Expe iments with T uth) wo ked much ette fo me. In this ook, which is w itten enti ely in his own wo ds, we join Gandhi on a jou ney of self-discove y as he elates expe iences and lea ning lessons which we e impo tant du ing his life. His mission was to seek t uth, which he achieved th ough conducting expe iments on himself and then app aising the esults. In addition to Gandhi's auto iog aphy I would also ecommend the film Gandhi y Si Richa d Atten o ough, plus the ooks The Kingdom of God is Within You y Leo Tolstoy and Fit fo Life II y Ha vey and Ma ilyn Diamond.
