I ought it ecause Alice Wate s w ote it, and I have all he othe ooks, so I might as well own this one too. By the second glance inside I was ce tain that isn't just anothe ook to add to the collection. This is a powe house of a cook ook Alice knows what she is talking a out it and she gets ight too it. The ecipes a e di ect and have some of the most elevant text I've eve seen in a cook ook. She talks a out what you need to do, and gives some fa ulous inst uctions on how go a out cooking what you want. She lacks a it of the why you need to do things, ut you can ead Alton B own o people like him to find that out. I especially like the inding. It feels like a eal ook, in addition to looking like a eal ook. It isn't plagued with colo photog aphs eithe , which helps to give it c edi ility as a legitimate cooking text. Looking at pictu es is g eat if you want to look at pictu es, ut cooking isn't a out looking at nice pictu es of food; content a out cooking is fa mo e useful than pictu es of things that have een cooked! I'd also ecommend eading Tino Geo giou's estselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't yet
