掛け合いが楽しい
シリーズ１作目The Duke and Iも良かったですが、こちらの話の方が好きです。アンソニーとケイトの会話が面白いです。ケイトの妹の方が結婚相手にふさわしいと思いながらも、ケイトに惹かれてどうしようもない気持ちになったり、家長としての責任の重さに悩まされる姿に、どんどん引き込まれていきました。どこの時代・国でも長男は大変なのね〜、と思ってしまいました。
心に残るロマンス
社交界きっての放蕩者と評判の子爵、ブリジャードン家の長男アンソニーは そろそろ身を固める決意をし、社交界一の美貌といわれるエドウィナに目を つけます。彼女は美しいだけでなく、大人しく子爵の嫁にはうってつけに 見えたからでした。 しかし、エドウィナにはケイトといううるさい姉がいつも付き添っていて （容姿は人並み、かなり気が強く、ズケズケモノをいうタイプ）、 エドウィナには近づくなとケイトに釘を刺されます。 そんなケイトに腹をたてながらも、アンソニーは妙に興味を覚え始めます・・・ 「あんなむかつく女」と思っていて、自分でも絶対に認めたくないのに・・・。 前半はホントやな奴って感じのアンソニー。でも、彼の心の傷も次第に明らかに なり、最後はじーんとくる結末になりました。 毎章ごとに、社交界のゴシップライターの記事が載るのですが、それも 結構面白いです。ブリジャートン家シリーズは長男アンソニーの他にも ７人兄弟姉妹がいて、シリーズになっています。他の本では、このゴシップ ライターの素性も明らかになるみたいです。邦訳も出ていますが、この アンソニー（The Viscount Who Loved Me)はまだみたいです。 最近読んだ中では、かなりオススメです。

この作品ですっかりQuinnのファンになりました
Ca olineは、財産目当てに息子との結婚を迫る後見人Olive の手を逃れ、屋敷を抜け出した。ところが彼女をつかまえたのは、陸軍省に勤めるBlake。スパイの疑いのあるOlive の屋敷を見張っていた彼は、Ca olineをスパイの一員だと思い込み、尋問するため自分の屋敷に連れて行った。Ca olineは、財産を自由にできるようになる２１歳の誕生日までの６週間、なんとかこの屋敷に隠れていようと、あの手この手で尋問をはぐらかしていくが……。 Quinnの作品は初めて読みましたが、かなりおもしろくて、すっかりファンになってしまいました。なんといってもヒロインのCa oline、美人で聡明で、というタイプのヒロインではありませんが、ユニークで魅力的！心に傷を持つBlakeと、いつもごそごそおかしなことばかりしでかしているCa olineの組み合わせがいい感じ。Blakeの友人Jamesも交えた３人の会話が楽しくて、思わず吹き出してしまう場面多数。英語も易しくて、どんどん読み進められます。

She meets Benedict (the he o) the fi st time in a masque ade all and they fall in love. But then she just disppea s. p Julia Quinn's ve sion eally sta ts afte the all, when Sophie has to find he self a new jo and a shelte instead of living with he stepmothe . Two yea s have passed, she meets he Benedict again when he saves he f om a leche ous employe . He eally has no idea that Sophie is actually the lady with whom he fell in love at the masque ade all. He offe s he a position in his mothe 's house and not fo long he falls in love with he all ove again. He finally asks he to e his mist ess, A BIG MISTAKE. ブリジャートン家の中でおてんばなエロイーズが主人公のお話です。前作でも伏線のあった彼女の行動が明らかになります。ある男性と１年近く手紙のやり取りをしていて、その男性から妻にならないかとプロポーズを受け、二人が合うかどうかを探るため、サー・フィリップの家に行くことにしますが、しかも家族の誰にも言わず一人で。フィリップは手紙の中で彼女が想像していた人とは違うことに気づきます（彼もエロイーズが想像とは違っていたと感じますが）。しかも双子の子持ちだった！子供たちは親の愛情が足りなくていろんな悪さをします。フィリップは何とかしないとならないと思いながらも見てみぬフリ。エロイーズが家に来たことで生活が変わっていきます。お互いに惹かれあっていくのですが、なんか物語は物足りないように感じました。
