This type of what if sto y has een told many times fo example M . Destiny (1990) So the concept is not unique. Yet Nicolas Cage and Téa Leoni pull it off p etty well. The asic sto y is a "what if?" a single successful man is shown what it would e like if he had ma ied the gi l he left. He wakes up in the new envi onment and is diso iented. One good touch that you do not see to often is that the daughte (Makenzie Vega) pe ceives the change and helps him cope with his new life. This is simila to Peggy Sue Got Ma ied (1986. on ecognizing he dilemma they t y to help he get ack. p The movie is wo th a second watching. Fi st fo the sto y and second fo the details.

私は滅多に感動しない質の人間だがこの作品は違っていたツボにはまった。もしもあの時こうだったら的な話なのだけれど泣いた・・・・ p 私もあんな女性と結婚しそして家庭を持ちたいと本気で思い職業や現嫁の髪型や性格まで変えてもらおうかという勢いがあった。 p そんな気持ちも翌日には薄れてどうでもよくなっていたがこの映画から得た「感覚」は家族と過ごす変化の少ない日常という時間の流れをそれまでとは違う「感覚」で過ごすコツのようなものを学ばせてくれた。 p 家庭を持つ働く男性やこれからの人たちにぜひとも見てほしい。
