Fantastic Words Read Them Out Loud
This ook is a eally well done collection of g eat speeches. I found myself moved y many of these. Read a few out loud and think a out the people and the wo ds they spoke. Even though this is a ig ook, I did not feel ogged down in it. It was fast paced, exciting. MacA thu had wonde ful comments in f ont of some speeches that eally added to the powe of eading the wo ds. MacA thu did a eally good jo to make a wonde ful ook.

不安定な時代に現れ、その頑強な信念と卓抜した話力で民心を獲得したヒトラー。黒人の人権をうたったマルコムＸ、そしてマーティン・ルーサー・キング。「あのときこそイギリス人が最も高貴であったときだった」と大戦下で喘ぐイギリス国民を励ましたチャーチル・・・。歴史の局面においては、必ずだれかが深遠な言葉を残しているのである。その「深遠な言葉」のおいしいところを手っ取り早く知りたい！という人には最高の著作であろう。個人的には第一次世界大戦を信号弾にたとえ、イギリス社会の改善を求めたロイドジョージの演説が特に良かった。教養としても覚えておきたいような珠玉の演説ばかりである。

It was wise fo B ian McA thu to keep in mind that this is not a time fo ADVOCACY, thus not make any a tificial effo ts to " alance" the count ies etween west and east, o to alance the gende s--if the e was actually an ove whelming num e of male leade s in the past centu y, then let the collection accu ately eflect that; if the e we e less-than-ideal speeches which actually initiated events (Adolf Hitle , fo one), then let that e accu ately eflected as well. p Impecca le ook fo the student of politics, fo the udding speechw ite , o fo anyone simply fascinated y wo ds which move people and define an age. p .
