チベット人と話すにはこの本だ！
去年の十二月の一ヶ月間、僕はチベットにいました。ガイドブックの後ろの方に載っているわずかなチベット語と現地で友達になったチベット人に教わったチベット語で何とか生活していましたがやはり限界を感じました。そんな時に宿で知り合ったカナダ人がこの本を持っていました。早速この本を借りてチベット人と話しをしたところ普段の何倍もの時間を地元の人と過ごせました。 やはりその国の言葉を喋るのが旅行を楽しくする必要条件だと思います。海外の言葉のガイドブックとしては旅の指さし会○帳が便利ですがチベット編がないのでこの本を利用するのがお勧めです。また英語がチベット語に訳されているのでチベットの人にとっても読みやすいし、勉強になったみたいです。チベットを本気で体感したい人には薦めます。

美しい内容だった
動物学者の知人に同行し、ネパールの奥深くに生息する白豹を探しに行くという旅行記だ。 白銀の神々しい世界、六千メートル級の山々が鎮座するなかにあるチベット寺院、ときに狡猾で、ときに愛くるしいシェルパたち、さまざまな種の野生動物...それらが抒情詩的に語られている部分で、きれいな内容だなぁと感激した。頭のなかで描かれている風景を想像しながら、自分も同じく旅をしているように感じました。
