せつないDark-Hunter
初めて読むDa k-Hunte シリーズ。今回のヒーロー、ギリシャ人のKy ian。ずいぶん皮肉っぽいヒーローだなーと思ってましたが、彼の過去を読んで泣きそうになりました。愛する女性に手酷く裏切られて人間不信に陥り、過去に捕われがんじがらめになっていた彼が、Amandaのような優しいヒロインに巡り会い、彼女の助けてを得て過去を乗り越え癒されていく過程がよかったです。 単なるホラーやロマンス要素ばかりが強いのではなく、弱さや傷つき易い面を持ったヒーローが、不老不死なのにとても人間臭くて親しみを感じました。人間ドラマ的な部分もあって、このシリーズはまりそうです。
ダーク・ハンター・シリーズ２
ダーク・ハンターと呼ばれる、ギリシャ神話をベースにしたヴァンパイア・スレーヤー達のラブ・ストーリーの（たぶん）２作目。今回のヒーローは元ギリシャ人のキリアン。シニカルなユーモアのセンスが秀逸です。個人的には、ヴァンパイア・レスタトの次に魅力的なキャラクターだと思います。ハリウッドで映画化してくれないかなあ。ロマンスもアクションも満載。

The main cha acte of the sto y, Ky ian is a da k hunte , whose jo is to hunt and kill daimons (=vampi es). Ky ian seems a ogant, dominant and difficult at fi st, ut it ecomes appa ent late that he has ecome athe cynical ecause the one pe son he loved and devoted his life to et ayed him. Even though eing a da k hunte means eing lonely and often o ed (most daimons un away f om a da k hunte when they see him, the exception eing Deside us, the main villain of this sto y), he st uggles with the idea that no one can love him and that he does not dese ve Amanda. The e is good chemist y etween Ky ian and Amanda, and I liked that Amanda ca es a out Ky ian as much as he ca es a out he . Ky ian is not the sma test male cha acte omance lite atu e has eve seen (Deside us t icks him quite easily), ut he is hono a le, gene ous, and loyal - cha acte istics that make him ext emely lova le. As the fi st of the da k hunte se ies (followed y Night Em ace, Dance with the Devil, Kiss of the Night), quite a few pages a e devoted to the ackg ound info mation. If you have gone to the autho ’s homepage, whe e she actually has the whole ackg ound set up, you may e a le to skip this pa t. Ove all, this is a good ead, especially if you like pa ano mal and hot G eek men!
