Although the concept of the monste is good, and the conflicts of the sto y well thought out, Shelly suffe s f om the w iting style of the time. Many people do not finish the ook as the language is stilted and ve ose fo example when was the last time you said, “Little did I then expect the calamity that was in a few moments to ove whelm me and extinguish in ho o and despai all fea of ignominy of death.” Much of the ook seems like t avel log fille . And it is Victo that is ackwa ds which added in him doing the impossi le y not knowing any ette . The monste is well ead in “So ows of a Young We the ,” “Pa adise Lost,” and Pluta ch’s “Lives.” The de ate (mixed with a few mu de s) ages on as to whethe the monste was doing evil ecause of his natu e o ecause he was spu ned?
