リスニング上級者向き
エスター＆ジェリー・ヒックスのエイブラハムによる引き寄せの法則。日本語に訳された本はすべて読んで すごくよかったので、英語でも読んでみたいなぁと思いました。でも、本だと買っただけで満足してしまう可能性もあるので『運命が好転する 実践スピリチュアル・トレーニング(Ask and it is Given)』のＣＤを選びました。ＣＤは２セットに分かれています。わたしの買ったのは前半の法則の部分。 まず"A aham"自身から一言。ジェリーの朗読によるウェイン・ダイアー博士の前書き、ジェリーの解説。それから『エイブラハムについて』はエスターが朗読。あとはすべて、ジェリーが朗読しています。 ナチュラルスピードにしても、早い！でも、ジェリーの声は聞きやすいし、発音がはっきりしているのでわかりやすいです。原文のままＣＤ収録されているのでうれしい。日本語訳では違和感のあったカタカナ語も、英文の中で聞けば自然に理解できます。 ＣＤは４枚組。ＣＤ１枚の録音時間は５０分〜６０分。これで2400円なら安いです！

Unfinished Symphony
In this life I have een fo tunate and lessed enough to encounte some t uly amazing ooks (some I have w itten eviews of he e at Amazon) and fo that I am ete nally thankful. This ook howeve is somewhat unique. You could say that the wisdom this text offe s the eade encompasses most of what I have ead (of this gen e) elsewhe e, only he e the p esentation, o de and fo mat is not only VERY accessi le, and ve y easy to g asp, ut it fills in the gaps and expands upon the wisdom p esented elsewhe e. Whilst othe wo ks in this field might p esent pieces of the puzzle, he e we a e given the full ox, with no missing pieces and easy to follow set of inst uctions. And what is the pictu e we a e making? Happiness, liss and well- eing; a t anquil hea t and a deepe unde standing of life. You might say that this ook is the sound f om which the othe s ecame the echo; I thought they we e sounds in thei own ight ut not enti ely. The essence of this ook is that asically anything is possi le if you align you self (you vi ation) with the vi ation of that which you want, the ook uses many simple analogies and metapho s to explain clea ly how you can go a out doing this and to explain why we a e not all meeting with the success which we a e due. Su ely once you have ead this ook a good deal mo e of the clouds will clea and the sun will shine ighte . You may ealise that what you thought was the t uth o eality (in te ms of eaching you goals) can often e the opposite and that we most often d ive away what is waiting fo us. I am totally enamou ed with this ooks, and he e I must confess I am only half-way th ough. Why am I eviewing a half finished ook? Well, ecause I feel that these teachings a e SO special that eve yone should ead this ook, and if I have a chance to help pe suade the eade of this eview then I'd like to sha e my views thus fa , and then amend the eview when I finish eading. A couple of things that int igue me a out this special ook is that fi stly I don't even emem e uying it, no know why I even ought it. You can see f om my eviews some of the ooks I ead and I suppose I o de ed it with those? I don't ecall... and ecause of its size and weight it sat on my shelf waiting fo the thinne ooks to get ead. Last week when they we e all done I had a choice of two ooks (two that suit eing ead on a commute t ain) and this one won - fo no pa ticula eason, othe than it was slightly lighte ... I wish I had ead it soone ! One amazing thing a out this text is that it makes me smile. That doesn't sound so amazing...? ut I mean I am eading the pages on the t ain and I'm g inning madly at the joy, wisdom and love contained he ein and people a e looking at me like I'm c azy! HaHa, most amusing. But I have to confess, I haven't smiled this oadly fo an age. With that in mind, I since ely hope it ings the eade as much joy and happiness and cla ity as it has ought me at this ea ly stage. Thank you.

It is a small ook, that is good fo a quick ead on the us. It is good to meditate on it and t y out the PLAN. But I don't think it wo ks.
Wisdom condensed
The following two maxims pe haps go someway to desc i ing this ook - 'The t uth t avels in a st aight line' 'The sho test distance etween two points is a st aight line' What the autho has effectively done is to distil centu ies of PMA wisdom into unde 20 pages of a 10x15cm 'pamphlet'. As with all p ofound wisdom the mo e wo ds you add the mo e you loose sight of the point, the mo e ea th you pile the deepe the seed is u ied - the mo e fuel you add to the fi e, the fu the you a e pushed away. I'm su e this ooklet will have mo e c itics that fans, and that alone shouts volumes. That fact itself simply e-enfo ces the T uth captu ed he ein, that WE, and only we a e in cont ol, if we want success and happiness then we can have it! Why don't you have it? ecause if the t uth e told and you look into you hea t, you DON'T WANT IT! - "But I DO!" you c y... look inside you hea t and see what it is you REALLY want, not what you THINK you want, o you think you a e SUPPOSED to want, plan and p epa e and it will come to you in some fo m. PMA.
値段と見合わないほどの濃い内容
英語を原書のまま読みきるには ちょっとやそっとでない英語力が必要です。 p しかし、この本はわずか30頁ほどの小冊子なので 簡単に読めます。 p それにもかかわらず、英語の文章のレベルはそれなりに高いので 大学受験レベルの英語力は必要になってくるかと 思われます。 p また、エミール・クーエという人について知識がないと、 23頁のたとえがわかりませｎ。 p 短い記述で濃い内容をあらわそうとしたために、 この本一冊で全ての文脈が理解できるわけではないです。 p 例えば、多くの本、人生経験などに当たることが必要となってきます。 p それにもかかわらず良い本です。
It Worksの文体
この本に興味を持たれた方の参考になればと思い、「It wo ks」 p の文章について少し感想を書いておきたいと思います。 p この本の文章は、修飾関係がやや複雑で、洋書を読み慣れてい p ない人にとっては、やや読みにくい文章であるように思います。 p 日本人にとっては、必ずしもお手本にしたくなるような文章では p ないかもしれません。 p 著者自身も述べているように、３５０ページまで引き延ばそうと p 思えばできた内容を、ごく手短にエッセンスのみ述べているので、 p 飛躍が多く、読む際には行間を埋めるように読んでいく必要があ p ります。 p ということで、内容はともかくとして、英語そのものとしては、 p あまり初心者向きではないかもしれません。初心者の方は、やは p り、解説つきの訳本「イット・ワークス 夢をかなえる赤い本」 p を併せて持っている方がよいでしょう。
普段英語の本を読まない人でも
夢がある人、ぜひ達成したい目標があるにとっては一読の価値のある本です。 p 普段英語の本を読まない人でも、読んでみるといいと思います。 p 私はネットでかつて、「ＰＡＬＭで目標、夢を達成する」というアイディアを知りました。 p （ＰＡＬＭというのは簡単なパソコンの機能を搭載した携帯端末の一種です。） p それは、ＰＡＬＭのTO DOリストに希望とその達成日を書き込んで、それを度々眺めていると、目標、夢が達成されるという内容でした。 p 私はそれを実践し、目標を達成しました。 p この本に書いてあることはＰＡＬＭを使った目標達成に似ていると思いました。 p 私には今、夢はありませんが、夢のある人にとっては利用価値の高い本だと思います。

私自身もキャリアカウンセラーとして、 この考え方をとても有効だと思っていますが、 エグゼクティブコンサルティングをしていて、 経営者の方からも非常に評価が高い考え方であり。 エニアグラムを一番的確に表現されている本。 企業研修にも使っています。 いろいろな方にプレゼントして喜ばれます。 何より、私が私らしく生きるためのヒントがたくさんで、 この本で私は人生が変わりました。
本書は一生の宝。
内容の紹介については、皆さんが書かれた通りです。 ただ、一点わたしが気になったのは、 読書だけでエニアグラムが、ましてや自分のタイプがわかった気になるのは、 とても危険だし、せっかくの読書が「百害あって一利なし」になりかねません。 それくらい自分のタイプを特定するのは、難しいことなのです。 実際、何年もエニアグラムをやり、ファシリテータにまでなった人が、 自分の実際のタイプを間違えていた、という人を何人も知っています。 ワークショップで、タイプごとの「島」を観察するだけで、それこそ「オーラ」が異なるのに遭遇し、 ショックを受けると思います。 自己評価（読書体験）だけではどうしても、自分に甘く、都合の良いように解釈、合理化しがちです。 自己評価と、外から観た他人の評価との「間」で悩み、揺れ動くのが人間というものです。 基本的理解として読書は大切ですが、この種の学びには、 実際のワークショップへの参加が不可欠です。 自分とは異なる他のタイプの方の本音を見聞きするだけで、 「人は皆、同じ」というクリシェ、「わたしはこう言う性格」という常識が、思い込みに過ぎなかったことがわかります。 著者のリソとハドソンも、強く戒めていたと思います。 あえて補足しておきたいと思ったしだい。 悪しからず。 以上を踏まえて読めば、本書は一生の宝となること請け合いです。 日常生活の中で活かしてこそ、読書の醍醐味があると信じます。
この本でやっと自分のタイプに出会えました
数年前からエニアグラムに興味があり、何冊もエニアグラムの本を読みましたし、通信教育も受けましたが想定した自分のタイプにしばしば疑問がわいてました。タイプ４？７？５？などとかなりゆれてました。しかし、この本でやっと自分のタイプがわかりました。すごくわかりやすくて、自分がどういう性格なのか陥りがちな面をやっと認めることができました。自分のタイプがなかなかわからない・・・という人におすすめです。
素晴らしい！
エニアグラムの指導者として、現在世界的にもっとも高い評価を受けているドン・リチャード・リソ（タイプ４ｗ３・自己保存）、ラス・ハドソン（タイプ５ｗ４・セクシャル）の基本書です。理論の明晰さや実践の深みにおいて、比類のない内容を提供しています。現代アメリカの哲人ケン・ウィルバーも両氏のエニアグラムを｢価値ある重要な本｣として強く推薦しています。
分かり合える仲間同士で読んでみよう
世界人類50億人をたった９つの種類に分けてしまえるほど人間の性格は単純ではありませんが、素直に文中の処方箋を読み返してみると、はたと思い直してしまう文言があるのも事実でした。是非、分かり合える仲間と一緒に本の中のテストを進めていくことをお勧めします。
